Everest - Sherpa Experience Trek
This is a short trek suitable as an introductionto the Khumbu or for those who are not able to find the time to make the longer treks to Kala Patar or to Gokyo.

Our trek begins with the spectacular flight to Lukla (2804m) in the mountains of the Khumbu. Our Sherpa trekking crew will be waiting to take us out on the Trail to Everest with an easy afternoons walk to Phakding (2652m).

A steady climb takes us up the the Dudh Khosi valley to Jorsale and into the Mt Sagamartha (Everest) National Park and the trek to Namche Bazaar (3441m) the 'trading post' of the Khumbu. The village houses rise one above the other on the steep hillside and range around the valley that is like a huge amphitheatre

We spend two nights at Namche for acclimatisation and this will give time to explore the village and visit the Monastery and the Everest museum, or possibly take a side trek to Thami.

The trek to Tengboche follows, the Dudh Kosi (milk river) with superb views of Thamserku, Ama Dablam, and Everest and Lhotse, down to Phunki Thenga, a small settlement with some interesting water driven prayer wheels. We have a day at Tengboche (3867m) to visit the monastery and to explore the surrounding area.

We must say our farewells to Tengboche and with a last lingering view of the mountains make our way back to Lukla, possibly via the villages of Khumjung and Khunde, two Sherpa settlements sitting under Khumbila the Sherpas sacred mountain.

We have three days in Kathmandu giving time to explore the other ancient kingdoms of the valley based at our excellent hotel in Thamel. These days are also built in to act as spare days if bad weather delays our flight from Lukla, they do of course give you the opportunity for shopping and to enjoy the culture which is so different to our own, a good way to end your Nepalese experience.
