May 2015 - Earthquake in Nepal: interim update

A magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck Nepal on April 25, 2015, causing widespread loss of life, extensive damage in the Kathmandu Valley and severely affecting Nepal’s rural areas.

Denis has reported that he and his Sherpa family are all unharmed and his home in Kapan in the outskirts of Kathmandu is undamaged. All people associated with Nepal Trekking are OK; a fuller update will follow as soon as circumstances permit.

If you would like to donate to relief efforts, Nepal trekking supports The Britain-Nepal Medical Trust (BNMT) who have been providing support for health and welfare throughout Nepal since 1968; they have an earthquake appeal here.
